Welcome

Thanks for checking out Creekside Church and our ministry to the people of the Mat-Su Valley in Wasilla,  Alaska! We are a church of real people, with real lives, real brokenness and a real love for Jesus and our community. Creekside is a non-denominational, non-charismatic, evangelical church with people of diverse backgrounds and walks of life. We are deeply committed to proclaiming the love and mercy of Jesus to a broken world, making disciples who will bring glory to God with their lives. We are not perfect and have a lot of growing to do, but we are so thankful that God is doing a deep, healing work in us so that we might accomplish the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, for His glory.  We long to be a place where people can meet Jesus,  engage in life-giving community, and feel connected to our church family. We believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts and use them for God's glory. If this is your first time visiting a church or you've been in church your whole life, we welcome you to join us this Sunday and we would love for you to become a part of our Creekside family.

..::OUR HISTORY
Creekside Church began in 1959 serving the roughly 300 people living in the Wasilla and Knik-Goosebay area. Over the years, as the community grew, so did the church. Construction began in its current location sometime in the late 80s, moving into the upstairs sanctuary in 1989 where services were held until the current worship center was built in 2018. On July 1, 2018, we moved into our new worship center. The old building and office space has become home to Creekside Kids, a dynamic worship venue and classrooms for the church’s growing children’s and youth ministries. Today, Creekside Church is a growing church, approximately 750 people, with 475+ in attendance each week between two large group gatherings on Sunday morning.  Our heart is to make disciples who make disciples, helping people grow through dynamic worship, practical expository teaching from God’s Word, and weekly missional communities, our primary means for discipleship (life in Christ, life in Community, life on Mission).

..::OUR LEADERSHIP
Creekside Church is an Elder led church, with a Lead Pastor. We have adopted a shared model of spiritual leadership and function with a plurality of Elders, equally serving, leading and shepherding the church. Our Spiritual Leadership Team is made up of the Lead Pastor and several lay Elders. We are committed to lead in unity and in plurality.

..::OUR MISSION/VISION
As a church, we are committed to following our leader, Jesus, as we live out his command to love him with all of our hearts, love others sacrificially and make disciples of all nations.  In an effort to clearly state, in our own words, what it is we are committed to, we have written a mission/vision statement to guide us in accomplishing God’s purposes for Creekside Church.

“Creekside Church will PROCLAIM CHRIST crucified and risen existing to MAKE DISCIPLES through Biblical Teaching, Authentic Worship, Devotion to Prayer and  being a Loving Community, all to GLORIFY GOD.”

A typical service will last about 90 minutes. We sing contemporary worship songs and have Bible based teaching, usually verse-by-verse.  Creekside Kids programs are offered at both services.

What Should I Wear?

At Creekside, we are more concerned with meeting your real-life needs than with what you wear.  Most people will dress in casual weekend attire, so dress how you feel comfortable and you'll fit right in.

When Should I Arrive?

Our Sunday services begin at 9:00am and 11:00am, but we invite you to arrive early to visit the Connection Center.  They'll give you a gift card so you can grab a latte or mocha from Living Waters Cafe (right in the lobby). If you're dropping kids off, please allow a few extra minutes to get them checked in.

what do you have for children?

Is volunteering and giving required?

Absolutely not!   While we encourage all to be involved in serving and giving to Creekside, it is not a requirement to be a part of our community. As you get to know Creekside and what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, our prayer is that your service and giving will be a response to God's grace in your life and desire to share what you have with Him and others.
