1 Samuel 18–24
David’s success produces Saul’s jealousy, turning the newly celebrated hero into a hunted fugitive. Although David has already been anointed king, he refuses to manipulate God’s promise or seize the throne through violence. God uses rejection, friendship, wilderness, danger, and waiting to form the heart of His future king.
